History of the Firm

For more than 60 years, Quantum Global Advisors (QGA) has been an essential partner with businesses around the world, providing assistance and management with every type of property insurance claim. A tradition of excellence has helped us develop an unparalleled reputation as an industry leader - not only for results achieved, but for our competent, thorough and professional approach in securing results.

In the days following the end of World War II, brothers Louis and Al Ritter established a consulting practice in Chicago to assist policyholders in the measurement and preparation of property and business interruption claims.  The firm grew throughout the next two decades, becoming one of the largest regional practices.

At a time when the needs of clients were expanding both professionally and geographically, Lou’s sons, Gerald and Kenneth Ritter, joined the practice in 1977 following their graduations from law school.  As part of its growth, the firm expanded its professional resources to include all of the disciplines necessary to assist in every aspect of claim preparation and certification.  In addition, our partner Steve Dimakos joined the company in 1984 and helped to build our international presence and presided over the addition of some of the finest forensic analysts in the world.

To date, the QGA team has participated in the measurement and resolution of over $5 billion of property and time element claims.
